Geoff Bourke

Geoff joined the Energyworks team at the start of 2018 as a Project Manager, primarily focused on the safe and timely delivery of major projects for long term Energyworks clients.

Prior to joining Energyworks, Geoff spent five years in the Projects and Facilities team at Todd Energy. During this time Geoff was responsible for a broad range of Upstream projects, from Concept to Commissioning, covering various workscopes such as Design and Stakeholder Management, Procurement, Contracting Strategy, QHSE Assessments & Controls and Construction Monitoring. Combined this has allowed Geoff to develop a unique and contemporary skill set in the execution of industrial sector projects.

Geoff holds an Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from the University of Canterbury. Prior to working in the Industrial sector, Geoff spent time in the Infrastructure and Commercial Construction sectors both in New Zealand and abroad.

Procurement & Resourcing Manager

Scott Wilson

Bachelor of Commerce & Administration (Victoria University of Wellington)

Scott has been employed by the company in a procurement role since April 2010 and recently accepted responsibility for the expanded role of Stores and Procurement Manager in early 2016.

He has fundamental responsibility to develop, maintain and manager the Stores function within the business and ensure that the Procurement department delivers the best commercial outcomes for Energyworks.

Scott is responsible for managing supply contracts, undertaking market analysis to determine supplier value for all relevant categories, managing the process of selecting suppliers, including negotiation, recommendation and implementation of agreement and negotiating the terms of all supplier contracts.

He is also responsible for managing the relationship with suppliers & key stakeholders within the business and overseeing the logistics function with a view to streamlining the supply chain processes.

Scott has previous experience working as a Customer Services Representative for “InterIslander” in Wellington and a Logistics Manager for Symons Transport in Taranaki.

Director

Dallas Chadwick

Dallas Chadwick – Director

Originally employed with Inglewood Engineering as a Project Manager, Dallas progressed into the General Manager role, prior to buying the business in early 2000. He rebranded the business with a renewed focus on the Energy Sector and subsequently relocated it to its current location in Bell Block in 2005, where he has overseen the development and growth of the new site into a world class facility.

With over 30 years experience in the engineering industry, Dallas remains the major shareholder in the business and still retains an active role as business advisor to the management team.

Organisational Performance Manager

Rob Kirkwood

Rob joined Energyworks in 2013 as HSE Advisor then later as HSE Manager before taking up the role of Organisational Performance Manager in 2020 and oversees our operational and QHSE systems, processes and ISO certification.  Rob was an early adopter of the Safety Differently and Human and Organisational Performance approaches to workplace wellbeing, culture, occupational and psychological safety.

Rob’s previous experience of working as an Alpine Guide and Outdoor Safety Specialist in New Zealand, Europe and Antarctica laid the foundation for Rob’s role in risk management, leadership and Occupational Health and Safety.

Administration Manager

Melissa Walden

Melissa joined the company as an Adminstrator following her graduation from Otago University in 2003.

Melissa joined the company in 2004 as an Administrator following her graduation from Otago University Batchelor of Arts (Psychology) & Bachelor of Commerce (Management). Melissa has undertaken a number of administration support functions across the business in this time, and assumed the Administration Manager role in 2018.

Melissa is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the administrative functions of the company and ensuring the office operates efficiently and smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities include HR Administration, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Training and Competency, Client Contract Administration and IT Support, alongside managing a team Administrators. 

Melissa interacts with personnel at every level within the company on daily basis. She is a constant ‘go to’ person, always accessible for answering any queries, and providing assistance to ensure colleagues are able to work effectively and efficiently.  

Mechanical Technical Authority

Ian Brown

Ian has been employed as Mechanical Technical Authority since July 2004 and is a qualified Fitter Welder Tradesman and CBIP Welding Inspector. He has a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience that has also led to representation on the CBIP Certified Welding Inspector’s examination panel and the Technical committee.

Ian is responsible for all welding aspects including the development of new processes, procedures and welding qualifications.

Ian was also responsible for the development and qualification of pipeline and hot tap welding procedures and pipeline hydrostatic testing for: HDD sections of subsea pipelines for Pohokura and Kupe to DNV-OS-F101. 4” to 30” pipelines for Vector, ITL, TAG, Todd Energy, Shell Exploration, Technip, Brisbane river HDD to AS 2885. Hot tap qualification for Vector and Methanex.

Ian was employed at Fitzroy Engineering as a Fitter / Welder Tradesman from 1981-90 before transferring to a QA/QC role at the same company in 1991. He continued in this role through to 2004 prior to joining Energyworks.

Operations Assurance Manager

Glenn Ryan

Glenn re-joined the Energyworks Team at the start of 2022 as Operations Assurance Manager, having previously worked for Energyworks as a welding inspector. Glenn’s role now focuses on managing, developing and maintaining the capability, production, delivery and quality assurance aspects of the business.

Prior to re-joining Energyworks, Glenn spent five years as a QA/QC advisor for Worley, overseeing various large projects for several clients focusing on Quality Control & Assurance from concept and design, through to plant commissioning. Glenn also spent two years at Methanex as a part of their Compliance and Integrity team, this role was responsible for equipment inspection & certification, fabrication & turn around planning.

Glenn is a dual qualified tradesman, CBIP welding inspector and a member of the CBIP approvals committee. Glenn has also spent time working on offshore installations as well as four years spent working in related industries in the U.K.

Project Delivery Manager

Luc Poloni

Luc joined Energyworks at the start of 2021 as a Project Manager, before taking up the position of Project Delivery Manager. As part of his role, Luc is overseeing the deliverables that come from the Engineering Office and is responsible for the management and development of the Project Engineers and Project Managers.

Prior to joining Energyworks, Luc worked as a mechanical/process engineer and project manager primarily in the power industry. Throughout his career, he has been involved in a wide range of projects including due diligence, feasibility studies, design, construction and commissioning in New Zealand and overseas. He has worked in the Philippines on the commissioning of the Nasulo geothermal power plant and in New Caledonia to manage the construction of a dewatering plant for Vale NC. In his last role, he worked as a project manager for Sundyne in France, overseeing the design, fabrication and delivery of pump and compressor packages.

Luc holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanics and Energy specialty) from Ecole Polytechnique Universitaire de Marseille.

Energyworks new facilities are located on Connett Road, Bell Block, New Plymouth, Taranaki. This location is in New Plymouth’s main industrial area, 5 minutes from New Plymouth airport, adjacent to the main road north and the main haul route to Port Taranaki, and handy to all of Taranaki’s major industries.
